Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Bovine, Cat, and Pig.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein involved in cell-cell adhesion and epithelial layer maintenance. It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin to anchor the E-cadherin complex to the actin cytoskeleton. Beta-catenin also associates with microtubule complexes and signaling pathways such as Wnt/Wingless, tyrosine kinases, and phosphatases.
Beta-catenin plays a crucial role in morphogenesis and is expressed in various hair follicle cell types and epithelial cells. Dysregulation of beta-catenin is linked to multiple cancers, including colorectal, ovarian, liver, lung, and breast cancers. In the nucleus, beta-catenin co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors, promoting transcription of genes like cyclin D and c-myc, which drive cell proliferation and tumorigenesis.
