Target Information
The G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily comprises an estimated 600–1,000 members and represents the largest known class of molecular targets with proven therapeutic value.
GPR19 is an orphan receptor primarily expressed in the central nervous system, as well as in ovary, testis, and human embryonic stem cells.
It is postulated to play a role in cancer development, with increased GPR19 mRNA levels observed in metastatic melanoma, small cell lung carcinoma, and pancreas islet cell carcinoma.
