Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

This gene encodes the coagulation factor XIII A subunit.
Coagulation factor XIII is the final zymogen activated in the blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is a heterotetramer composed of two A subunits (catalytic) and two B subunits (carrier). Platelet factor XIII contains only two A subunits identical to plasma origin.
Upon thrombin activation and calcium presence, factor XIII dissociates its B subunits and forms the active enzyme factor XIIIa, which catalyzes gamma-glutamyl-epsilon-lysine crosslinking between fibrin molecules, stabilizing the clot.
Deficiency types:

  • Type I: Lack of both A and B subunits
  • Type II: Lack of A subunit only
    These defects can cause lifelong bleeding tendency, poor wound healing, and recurrent miscarriage.
