Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that can induce IFN-gamma production in T cells. In combination with IL12, it inhibits IL4-dependent IgE and IgG1 production, and enhances IgG2a production in B cells. IL-18 binding protein specifically interacts with this cytokine and negatively regulates its biological activity.
