Product Specific Information

The SIDI8BEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and rhesus macaque CD8 beta. The CD8b chain associates with the CD8a chain to form the CD8ab heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic αβ T cells. The CD8 receptor complex binds to MHC class I and plays a role in T cell development and activation.
SIDI8BEE detects CD8β in both CD8αβ heterodimer and CD8ββ homodimer and is cross-reactive to human and rhesus macaque CD8b.

Each product includes:

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry using human peripheral blood lymphocytes (5 µL/test, 0.8 µg/test).

Note: NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for optimal results.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) must be used for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates. Add 5 µL per sample before combining antibody cocktails with cells.

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology with engineered fluorescent signatures designed to minimize spillover and spread.

Target Information

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes. It acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by MHC class I molecules. The CD8 complex can form either αα homodimers or αβ heterodimers, both sharing homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. The CD8B gene encodes the beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene identified on chromosome 2.
