The Axiom Multispecies 9 Genotyping Array is used for parentage verification and trait selection for honeybee, sunflower, rice, soybean, common bean, bovine, ovine, equine, and canine species. It is a component of our Axiom Agrigenomics Genotyping solution where target genomic DNA is prepared and processed on the GeneTitan Multi-Channel instrument. The automated process include hybridization of the gDNA to this high-throughput microarray followed by staining, washing, imaging, and output of genotyping data for further analysis.
The Axiom Multispecies 9 Genotyping Array contains 48,440 SNPs selected for high-throughput production arrays based on genome coverage and best compromise to include the largest number of informative SNPs for each species. This array is also available in mini-96 format (Cat. No. 551417).
The Axiom Multispecies 9 Genotyping Array was designed under the Affymetrix Expert Design Program in collaboration with the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), Agrosavia (Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation), Martín Ariel Cantore (Sunflower Breeder), Rosina Fossati (Genexa-Uruguay), Dr. Rosana Vianello, Dr. Claudio Brondani, along with research scientists connected to the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) including Ms. Paula Valdisser (analyst) and Dr. Isabela Pavanelli (Post-Doc with grant from National Council for Scientific and Technological Development).
