Target Information
Transforming Growth Factor beta Receptor II (TGFBR2, also known as AAT3, FAA3, MFS2, RIIC, LDS1B, LDS2B, TAAD2, TGFR-2, TGFbeta-RII) is a member of the TGF-beta family of receptor Serine/Threonine kinases.
It plays an essential role in the regulation of cell proliferation.
TGFBR2 encodes the gamma subunit of the catalytic core of mitochondrial ATP synthase, which catalyzes ATP synthesis using a proton gradient across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation.
The catalytic portion of ATP synthase consists of five subunits (α, β, γ, δ, ε) with a stoichiometry of 3α, 3β, and one of each of the others.
The proton channel comprises three main subunits (a, b, c).
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
A pseudogene of TGFBR2 exists on chromosome 14.
