Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological roles. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as biomarkers for cancer and other diseases.
KLK8 is one of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located on chromosome 19, potentially involved in proteolytic cascades in the skin and may serve as a biomarker for ovarian cancer.
Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
