Product Specific Information
The IT2.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD86 (B7-2), an ~80 kDa surface receptor. CD86 and CD80 are members of the B7 family of costimulatory molecules. CD86 is expressed at low levels on B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells, and is upregulated upon stimulation through BCR, CD40, and cytokine receptors.
CD86 interacts with CD28 and CTLA-4 on T cells, playing a critical role in T-B cell crosstalk, costimulation, and immune regulation. The IT2.2 antibody is validated for flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test.
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtered post-manufacturing at 0.2 µm.
Target Information
CD86 is a ligand for CTLA4 and CD28 and functions as a costimulatory molecule during antigen presentation. Insufficient CD86/CD80 co-stimulation may induce tolerance. CD86 is expressed on antigen-presenting cells and binds CD28 and CTLA-4 on T cells, regulating activation and immune response intensity. Alternative splicing generates multiple isoforms. Dysregulation of CD86 is associated with gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
