EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 과발현은 여러 종류의 암과 연관되어 있습니다. EGFR은 인간 염색체 7에 위치한 EGFR 유전자에 의해 암호화되며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGF 또는 TGF-α 등의 리간드 결합 시 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기들이 자가 인산화됩니다. 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 및 편평세포암 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
