Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation of the ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3. These interactions lead to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a role in embryonic development such as gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, it contributes to wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
MET is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a valuable target for cancer research and diagnostic testing.
