Target Information
Cannabinoids exert their physiological effects through two G protein–coupled receptors, CB1 and CB2. Both receptors inhibit adenylyl cyclase and stimulate MAPK signaling. CB1 modulates ion channels via G-protein interactions, while CB2 primarily functions in the immune system, though it may also be present in the central nervous system, including the retina.
