Target Information

DDX1 (ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX1) acts as an ATP-dependent RNA helicase capable of unwinding both RNA-RNA and RNA-DNA duplexes. It possesses 5′ single-stranded RNA overhang nuclease activity and ATPase activity on various RNA substrates, but not DNA.
DDX1, together with RELA, functions as a coactivator enhancing NF-kappa-B-mediated transcriptional activation and positively regulates cyclin CCND2 expression by binding to its promoter region.
It is a component of a multi-helicase–TICAM1 complex that senses viral double-stranded RNA in the cytoplasm and activates antiviral responses, including induction of proinflammatory cytokines via TICAM1.
