Target Information
CD178 (Fas ligand, FasL)은 세포막을 관통하는 type-II 단백질로, N-말단은 세포질에, C-말단은 세포외 영역에 위치합니다. 그 수용체인 FasR은 TNF 및 NGF 수용체 패밀리에 속하는 type-I 막 단백질입니다. CD178은 FasR과 결합 시 apoptosis를 유도하며, 막 결합형(45 kDa)과 용해형(26 kDa) 두 형태로 존재할 수 있습니다. 용해형은 금속단백분해효소에 의해 절단되어 세포 외부로 방출됩니다.
CD178은 활성화된 T 림프구와 NK 세포에서 주로 발현되며, 고환과 눈 등 면역 특권 조직에서도 발현됩니다. 또한 흉선, 간, 난소, 폐, 심장, 신장 등 다양한 조직에서도 보고되었습니다. CD178을 통한 apoptosis 유도는 주로 항바이러스 면역 반응에 관여합니다.
Fas/CD178 시스템은 AIDS, 간염, 암 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있으며, 혈압 상승 환자에서 죽상동맥경화 및 염증성 질환과도 연관이 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
