This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and rat based on sequence homology.

Target Information

The DAXX gene encodes a multifunctional protein located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. It interacts with various proteins, including apoptosis antigen Fas, centromere protein C, and transcription factor E26 oncogene homolog 1. In the nucleus, it acts as a transcription repressor binding to sumoylated transcription factors, with repression relieved upon sequestration into promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies or nucleoli. The protein associates with centromeres during G2 phase and may regulate apoptosis in the cytoplasm. Its localization and function are modulated by post-translational modifications such as sumoylation, phosphorylation, and polyubiquitination. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
