This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal production clones.

This antibody has specificity for Human GPD1/Glycerolphosphate Dehydrogenase 1.


Target Information

The GPD1 gene encodes an NAD-dependent glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase involved in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. It catalyzes the reversible conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and NADH to glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) and NAD⁺.
The cytosolic GPD1 and mitochondrial glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase form a shuttle system that transfers reducing equivalents from the cytosol to mitochondria.
Mutations in this gene can cause transient infantile hypertriglyceridemia. Multiple isoforms are generated through alternative splicing.
