Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD279 / PD-1 (programmed cell death 1), a 55 kDa type I transmembrane protein expressed primarily during T cell development, and on activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes.
Recommended dilution: 10 µL per 100 µL of whole blood or per 1×10⁶ cells in suspension.

Target Information

Cell-mediated immune responses are initiated by T lymphocytes that are stimulated by peptides bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells (APC). Activated T cells express inhibitory receptors such as PD-1 (PDCD-1), which bind to ligands PDL-1 and PDL-2 on APCs to downregulate immune activation. PD-1 signaling inhibits immune responses in the absence of danger signals (e.g., LPS). PD-1-deficient mice exhibit hyperactivated immune systems and autoimmune phenotypes.
Despite its predicted molecular weight, PD-1 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
