The HIS24 monoclonal antibody reacts with an isoform of CD45 expressed by rat B cells. The antigen recognized by HIS24 is found on B cells from early bone marrow development to mature peripheral B cells, but not on plasma cells. HIS24 recognizes a 205 kDa protein by immunoblotting.
CD45 (Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA) possesses tyrosine phosphatase activity and plays a key role in lymphocyte activation.

Applications Tested: Tested on rat splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL assay volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information
CD45R (PTPRC) belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, regulating cell growth, differentiation, and signaling. It is specifically expressed in hematopoietic cells and is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling.
CD45 isoforms arise from alternative splicing and differ in extracellular domains, while sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. These isoforms vary in membrane localization and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45 also modulates integrin-mediated signaling and apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation.
CD45RA is a restricted isoform found in specific lymphoid subtypes.
Disorders associated with CD45 dysfunction include Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
