Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is vital for brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene have been found in tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangement often creates a fusion gene combining the ALK gene (chromosome 2) with the nucleophosmin gene (chromosome 5), forming the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein. ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a transmembrane and extracellular domain, showing high sequence similarity to LTK. It plays a key role in neuronal development and signaling.
