ALK 유전자 변이, 재배열, 증폭은 다양한 종양(예: 역형성 대세포 림프종, 신경모세포종, 비소세포 폐암)에서 발견됩니다.
가장 흔한 유전적 변화는 염색체 재배열로, ALK 유전자와 nucleophosmin (NPM) 유전자가 융합되어 NPM-ALK 융합 유전자를 형성합니다.
이 융합 단백질은 종양 형성에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
ALK 단백질은 LTK와 높은 서열 유사성을 가지며, 신경계 특정 뉴런에서 중요한 생리적 기능을 수행합니다.
