This antibody detects endogenous levels of total KISS1R / GPR54 protein.
Target Information
GCPR54 (also known as GPR54) is a galanin-like G protein-coupled receptor that binds metastin, a peptide encoded by the metastasis suppressor gene KISS1. It is involved in the regulation of endocrine function and the onset of puberty. GPR54 is expressed in various human tissues including brain, placenta, pancreas, and spinal cord, and at lower levels in spleen, blood leukocytes, testis, lymph node, thymus, small intestine, stomach, lung, and kidney. It is also abundant in tumor tissues. In rats, expression is observed in liver, intestine, and multiple brain regions such as pons, midbrain, thalamus, hypothalamus, hippocampus, amygdala, cortex, and striatum. ESTs have been isolated from normal placenta and kidney cancer libraries.
