Product Specific Information

The MFL3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Fas (CD95) Ligand, a 40 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF family. FasL is expressed by activated T cells and interacts with its receptor CD95 to induce Fas-mediated apoptosis.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Tested on transfected cells; ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
• Optimization: Antibody titration recommended for best performance

PerCP-eFluor® 710 can substitute for PE-Cy5, PE-Cy5.5, or PerCP-Cy5.5.

Stability:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 conjugated antibodies remain stable when stained samples are fixed with freshly prepared 2% formaldehyde overnight at 4°C. Evaluate if using alternative fixation protocols.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD178 (Fas ligand, FasL) is a type-II membrane protein with its N-terminus in the cytoplasm and C-terminal region extracellular. Its receptor, FasR, is a type-I membrane protein of the TNF receptor family. CD178 binding to FasR induces receptor oligomerization and apoptosis.

• Exists as membrane-bound (45 kDa) or soluble (26 kDa) forms
• Soluble form generated by metalloproteinase cleavage
• Expressed in activated T-lymphocytes, NK cells, and immune-privileged tissues (testis, eye)
• Also found in thymus, liver, ovary, lung, heart, and kidney
• Plays a key role in antiviral immune responses and immune regulation
• Implicated in diseases such as AIDS, hepatitis, cancer, atherosclerosis, and inflammatory disorders
