JAM3는 세포 간 접착을 매개하는 단백질로, 상피세포 또는 내피세포 시트에서 타이트 접합(tight junction)을 형성하여 세포 간의 물질 이동을 조절합니다. 이 단백질은 고내피세포(high endothelial cells)의 타이트 접합부에 위치하며, 백혈구 세포주와의 부착 능력은 없고 약한 동종 상호작용만을 형성합니다. JAM 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 동일 계열의 다른 단백질에 대한 수용체로 작용합니다.
