• Reconstitution: 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Initially known to act on ligand-gated receptor channels (NMDA, AMPA, kainate) involved in fast excitatory synaptic transmission, glutamate is now recognized to regulate second messenger-producing enzymes via G-protein-coupled receptors, termed metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs).
Group-I receptors (mGluR1a, mGluR5) stimulate phospholipase C, increasing phosphoinositide turnover and calcium release.
Group-II and Group-III receptors (including mGluR2 and mGluR3) inhibit adenylyl cyclase activity.
