IFITM1 (Interferon inducible transmembrane protein 1)는 IFN-inducible transmembrane protein family에 속하며, interferon-gamma에 의해 유도되는 항증식 반응의 핵심 매개체입니다. 세포 성장 조절에 관여하며 여러 종양 유형에서 발현이 증가되어 종양 바이오마커로 유용할 수 있습니다.
Mouse IFITM1과 IFITM3는 발생 단계별로 원시 생식세포 표면에 발현되며, IFITM1 활성이 원시 생식세포 이동에 필수적입니다. IFITM1은 mesoderm에서 endoderm으로의 이동 과정에서 비-IFITM1 발현 세포를 반발시키는 역할을 합니다.
