Enterovirus 71 (EV71)는 수족구병(HFMD)을 유발하는 바이러스로 현재 치료제가 없습니다. EV71 바이러스 입자는 약 30 nm 직경의 icosahedral 대칭 구조를 가지며, VP1~VP4 네 가지 단백질 소단위체의 60개 복합체로 구성됩니다. VP1~VP3 소단위체는 많은 바이러스에서 공통적으로 발견되는 베타-배럴 구조를 형성합니다.
