This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%) to prevent contamination.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1) is a member of the serine protease inhibitor superfamily and the principal inhibitor of tissue-type and urokinase-type plasminogen activators (tPA and uPA).

Platelets are the main source of circulating PAI1, but it is also synthesized and secreted by fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, and inflammatory cells. Expression is regulated by growth factors, cytokines, hormones, inflammatory mediators, and metabolic factors.

Elevated PAI1 levels are associated with thrombosis in obesity, thrombophilia, and metabolic syndrome, while PAI1 defects may lead to abnormal bleeding. It mediates inhibition of fibrinolysis and may promote neuronal survival.

Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of PAI1 have been identified.
