It forms a tetrameric complex consisting of one alpha, one beta, and two additional subunits required for signal transduction.
This receptor plays a crucial role in triggering allergic responses by coupling allergen and mast cells, leading to the release of mediators such as histamine.
These mediators initiate inflammatory responses characteristic of allergic disorders like hay fever and asthma.
