Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box.
F-box proteins are subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:
- Fbws: containing WD-40 domains
- Fbls: containing leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: containing diverse protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The FBXO7 protein belongs to the Fbxs class and may play a role in the regulation of hematopoiesis.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, with only some full-length forms determined.
