Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
GPC3 is a cell surface proteoglycan that bears heparan sulfate. It may be involved in growth modulation in mesodermal tissues and organs and in the regulation of IGF2 receptor interactions. Members of the glypican family are anchored to the membrane via GPI linkage and play roles in cell division, growth regulation, and tumor predisposition.
Deletion mutations in GPC3 cause Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome (SGBS), characterized by pre- and postnatal overgrowth with visceral and skeletal anomalies.
