Microtubule-associated serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 (MAST205)는 고환 특이적 세포질 단백질로, 정자 세포 성숙 과정의 다단백 복합체에서 기능합니다.
MAST205는 Syntrophin을 통해 dystrophin/utrophin 네트워크와 미세소관을 연결하며, TRAF6 복합체 형성을 통해 대식세포에서의 IL-12 합성 조절 및 NF-κB 활성 억제에 관여합니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 두 가지 isoform이 존재하며, isoform 1은 full-length 단백질, isoform 2는 327–396 및 1091–1113 잔기가 결핍되어 있습니다.
MAST205의 N-말단은 유비퀴틴화가 일어나기 위해 인산화되어야 하며, 이는 proteasome 매개 분해를 유도합니다.
