Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by the NAT8B gene is highly similar to the N-acetyltransferase 8 (NAT8) protein, expressed in kidney and liver, and shares homology with bacterial acetyltransferases involved in drug resistance. This gene is located on chromosome 2 near the NAT8 gene and may represent a pseudogene of NAT8. It contains two polymorphic nonsense mutations that disrupt the active site. The full-length product includes a complete acetyltransferase domain and is identical in length to NAT8.
