Target Information
POFUT1는 소포체 내에 존재하는 glycosyltransferase O-Fuc 계열 효소로, 여러 세포 표면 및 분비 단백질의 EGF-like 반복 서열에 존재하는 serine 또는 threonine 잔기에 O-fucose를 결합시킵니다. POFUT2와 달리, thrombospondin type 1 반복에도 fucose를 전달할 수 있습니다. POFUT1의 기질 중 다수는 수용체 신호전달에 관여하며, 대표적으로 Notch 단백질이 있습니다. POFUT1이 결핍된 mouse ES 세포는 Notch 수용체를 정상 수준으로 발현하지만, 리간드 결합 및 신호전달 기능을 상실합니다.
