Target Information
ERp72 is an endoplasmic reticulum luminal protein that acts as both a stress protein and a member of the protein disulfide isomerase family. It shares sequence identity with PDI at three discrete regions and contains the ER retention signal KEEL at its C-terminus.
ERp72 has three CGHC-containing active sites involved in protein disulfide isomerization, indicating that it functions as a molecular chaperone and is a newly described member of the CGHC-containing protein family.
