Target Information
DAP12 (also known as TYROBP) is a transmembrane adaptor protein associated with several cell surface receptors on natural killer (NK), myeloid, and neuronal cells. It contains an ITAM domain that recruits the protein tyrosine kinase Syk to initiate signal transduction.
Deficiency of DAP12 leads to impaired antigen presentation by myeloid cells and defective NK receptor function in mice, as well as presenile dementia and bone cysts in humans.
