The TLD-3A12 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130-kDa surface protein highly expressed on endothelial cells and at lower levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD38 binds to CD31, and homotypic interaction of CD31 is important in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction.

• Applications Tested: Validated for flow cytometry at ≤0.25 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume).
  • Recommended to titrate antibody for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through ITIM motifs that recruit protein-tyrosine phosphatases upon phosphorylation. It is expressed throughout the vascular system, mainly at endothelial junctions. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, essential for cell-cell interactions.

Functions of CD31 include:

• Regulation of integrin-mediated adhesion
• Transendothelial migration and angiogenesis
• Apoptosis and immune signaling modulation
• Roles in autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, and thrombosis
