Target Information
IL-6는 염증 반응 및 B 세포 성숙에 관여하는 사이토카인을 암호화하는 유전자입니다. 이 단백질은 내인성 발열 물질로서 자가면역 질환이나 감염 시 발열을 유도할 수 있습니다. 주로 급성 및 만성 염증 부위에서 발현되며, interleukin 6 receptor, alpha를 통해 염증성 전사 반응을 유도합니다.
IL-6의 기능은 당뇨병, 전신성 소아 류머티즘 관절염 등 다양한 염증 관련 질환과 연관되어 있으며, COVID-19를 포함한 바이러스 감염 시에도 상승된 수준이 관찰됩니다.
