This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
HAS1, HAS2, and HAS3 are hyaluronan synthase proteins responsible for synthesizing hyaluronic acid (HA), a linear polysaccharide composed of alternating glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine residues linked by β-1,3 and β-1,4 glycosidic bonds.
Each HAS isoform exhibits distinct expression patterns and functional roles:
- HAS1 and HAS2: Produce high molecular weight HA.
- HAS3: Produces lower molecular weight HA and is the most active isoform in adults.
HAS3 gene expression is crucial for hyaluronan synthesis regulation in the epidermis. It is upregulated by IFN-γ and downregulated by TGF-β. The human HAS3 gene maps to chromosome 16q22.1.
