Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
HYOU1 belongs to the heat shock protein 70 family. It plays an important role in protein folding and secretion in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Suppression of HYOU1 is associated with accelerated apoptosis, suggesting a cytoprotective role under hypoxic conditions. The protein is upregulated in tumors, particularly breast tumors, and is linked to tumor invasiveness. In rats, it localizes to both the ER and mitochondria via specific targeting signals.
