Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CD20.
Target Information
CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein with a molecular weight of 33–37 kDa, depending on phosphorylation. It is expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, a subset of T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. CD20 regulates transmembrane calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. It is associated with lipid rafts, and its interaction with BCR changes upon receptor ligation. CD20 remains at the cell surface after BCR endocytosis and serves as a therapeutic target for B-cell depletion due to its stable surface expression in B-cell malignancies. Diseases associated with CD20 dysfunction include MS4A1-related common variable immune deficiency.
