Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins exhibiting significant biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 different cytokeratin polypeptides (numbered 1–20) are expressed, with molecular weights ranging from 40 to 68 kDa and isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8.
Cytokeratin expression patterns vary according to epithelial type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state. These patterns are valuable in distinguishing different epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are widely used in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry for tumor diagnosis and cancer research.
