Target Information
Functions as a key mediator in apoptosis and inflammation. Promotes caspase-mediated apoptosis involving caspase-8 and caspase-9. Participates in activation of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway and mediates mitochondrial translocation of BAX. Plays a central role in macrophage pyroptosis and inflammasome assembly, activating caspase-1 and promoting secretion of proinflammatory cytokines. Involved in both innate and adaptive immune responses, regulating NF-κB, MAPK, and caspase-8 signaling. Isoforms may modulate inflammasome activity and interleukin-1β maturation.
