Product Specific Information
The JES5-16E3 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-10 (IL-10), an ~18 kDa cytokine also known as Cytokine Synthesis Inhibitory Factor (CSIF). In mice, IL-10 is produced by Th2 cells, B1 cells, macrophages, and keratinocytes. It inhibits Th1 cytokine synthesis and T-cell proliferation, while acting as a costimulatory signal for mast cells and thymocytes.

Applications Tested:
- ELISPOT capture: 1–4 µg/mL
- Sandwich ELISA: JES5-16E3 as capture antibody, biotinylated JES5-2A5 (13-7102) as detection, and recombinant mouse IL-10 (14-8101) as standard

Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes and lymphocytes. It regulates immune responses and inflammation by down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. IL-10 enhances B cell survival and antibody production, inhibits NF-κB activity, and regulates the JAK-STAT pathway.
Knockout studies indicate IL-10 is essential for intestinal immune regulation. Mutations are associated with susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.
Diseases related to IL10 include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
