Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This biotin-conjugated, affinity-purified antibody is directed against human MEK1 protein. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the MEK2 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase functioning in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades that control cell growth and differentiation. It is activated by various growth factors, cytokines, membrane depolarization, and calcium influx. MEK1 activation occurs via phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222 residues by Raf1. It is involved in stress response signaling, apoptosis, and proliferation induced by cytokines. Mutations in MAP2K1 may lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
