Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

S100B is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of many cell types and regulate various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100B is implicated in neurite extension, melanoma cell proliferation, Ca²⁺ flux regulation, inhibition of PKC-mediated phosphorylation, astrocytosis, axonal proliferation, and inhibition of microtubule assembly.
Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression of this gene have been associated with diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, melanoma, and type I diabetes.
