Target Information
BCL-XL은 BCL-2 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 이들은 이합체를 형성하여 세포 사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 항사멸 또는 친사멸 인자로 작용합니다.
BCL-XL은 미토콘드리아 외막에 위치하며, 미토콘드리아 외막 채널(VDAC)의 개폐를 조절합니다.
VDAC은 미토콘드리아 막전위, 활성산소종 생성, 그리고 사이토크롬 C 방출을 조절하여 세포 사멸을 유도합니다.
두 가지 스플라이스 변이체가 보고되었으며, 긴 형태는 항사멸 인자로, 짧은 형태는 친사멸 인자로 작용합니다.
