MAP2K3 (MEK3)는 세포 신호 전달 경로에서 작용하는 이중 특이성 단백질 키나아제로, 포도당 수송체의 발현에 필수적입니다. 이 키나아제는 MAPK14/p38-MAPK를 인산화하여 활성화시키며, 인슐린에 의해 활성화될 수 있습니다. RAS 온코진의 발현은 활성형 키나아제의 축적을 유도하여 MAPK14의 지속적 활성화를 초래하고, 세포의 종양성 변환을 유발합니다. 또한 이 키나아제의 억제는 Yersina pseudotuberculosis의 병인과 관련되어 있습니다. 여러 대체 스플라이스 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 각각은 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
