Target Information
DISP2 (Dispatched homolog 2) is a protein that plays a critical role in the regulation of the hedgehog signaling pathway. It is involved in the transport and release of hedgehog ligands, which are essential for cellular differentiation and tissue development.
Mutations in the DISP2 gene have been associated with developmental disorders such as holoprosencephaly and cleft lip/palate. DISP2 is also being investigated as a potential therapeutic target in cancer, as the hedgehog pathway is frequently dysregulated in various tumors.
