Carrier-Free
Reconstitution:
- Briefly centrifuge vial before opening to bring contents to the bottom.
- Reconstitute NT-3 in water to a concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL.
- Do not vortex.
- Store reconstituted solution at 2°C–8°C for up to 1 week.
- For extended storage, dilute in buffer containing a carrier protein (e.g., 0.1% BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
Storage:
- Lyophilized protein stable at room temperature for 1 month.
- For long-term storage, keep at -20°C.
- Working aliquots with carrier protein are stable for ≥3 months at -20°C to -80°C.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the neurotrophin family, which controls survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. It is closely related to nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. This protein may be involved in maintenance of the adult nervous system and neuronal development in embryos when expressed in human placenta.
NTF3-deficient mice show severe limb movement defects. The mature peptide is identical across mammals including human, pig, rat, and mouse.
