Target Information
Thioredoxin(Trx)은 산화환원효소 활성을 가진 소형 다기능 단백질로, 모든 생물 세포에 존재합니다.
Trx는 Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys로 구성된 보존된 활성 부위 내에 redox-active disulfide/dithiol 그룹을 포함합니다.
활성 중심의 두 시스테인 잔기는 산화되어 이황화 결합을 형성할 수 있으며, Trx reductase와 NADPH에 의해 환원됩니다.
환원된 Trx는 DNA 합성에 필수적인 ribonucleotide reductase의 수소 공여체로 작용하며, 단백질 이황화 결합 환원 효소로서 성장 및 산화환원 조절에 관여합니다.
또한 Trx는 protein disulfide-isomerase(PDI), p53, NF-κB, AP-1 등 다양한 단백질 및 전사인자의 환원에 관여하며, methionine sulfoxide reductase나 peroxiredoxin과 함께 H₂O₂ 제거에도 기여합니다.
